There is an underlying theme in this novel regarding discrimination.
1.) How would you feel if you were discriminated against because of your skin colour, gender, culture, religion, social group, or ethnic background? Write a paragraph explaining why you would feel this way. Be sure to include good supporting sentences to back up your opinion.
2.) Give an example of discrimination/persecution from your novel and explain how it made you feel when you read that section of your novel.
If I was discriminated against for my gender I would be hurt, sad & angry. I am sure anyone would be if they were discriminated by others. I think discrimination is the worst type of bullying there is for example if you are Jewish, Hitler has no right you persicute you even though he has an army or higher authority of you because you are your own person & others should not judge but respect you for it! Another reason is if you are from china, no one should leave you out or make you feel bad because your an immigrant. An example of discrimination from the breadwinner is how women are being persecuted by the Taliban & other people than are following them because women should get equal rights to walk the streets & show there faces, not spend there days locked inside a small room & hide who they are.
ReplyDeleteIf I was discriminated against because of one of the reasons above, I would be very very hurt, and really angry. I would feel this way because I believe that women and men and boys and girls all are equal and they all have equal rights. An example of discrimination in The Breadwinner is that girls and women cannot go outside or into shops unless they are escorted by a man and wearing a burqua.
