The Breadwinner: I think that the title of this book dosn`t really make sence and dosn`t really relate to the topic of the book at all. Overall on a scale from one to ten I would give this book a seven because it was thrilling and it always left me wanting more, to keep reading to find out what happens next. Introduction: I think the introduction was a little boring but it was also very descritive which kind of makes u for the boring thing. Body: The body of the story was very, very exciting and so many things happend and it was always on the edge wondering if she was going to get caught or not, and just the things she does to help bring in some extra money so her family could buy basic things and not go hungry every night. Conclusion: I thought the conclusion ended very, very suddenly and had no transitions what so ever. It was she went to sleep and the next thing you know she`s leaving her country, at least put a little transition into there somewhere. Language: I thought the language used it this book was very easy to follow and it was also very descriptive, it was like i could see word for word being played out in my head like a movie. Sentances: I found that the sentance structure varied alot and I liked this it was what keeped me on the edge of my seat. Correctness: I think that everything in this book was correct and it was all used correctly.
ReplyDelete"To live she must become something that a girl isn't, a boy." The bread winner is a great page-turner & i never wanted to stop reading the book to go to bed or do my homework. The breadwinner is a bit short but in the end they left you hanging on the last thread of rope. I give the book **** 4 stars for superb writing. It got slightly confusing at times but i made it through all right. The author did an A+ job by mixing facts & fiction to make a story about what's going on in Afghanistan. The only problem is that i had many ideas about the size of the small room & what it has inside of it. One more problem is that i have a hard time imagining what they are wearing at some times, because they are poor but i imagining Nooria wearing a beautiful mix of red & orange traditional dress. over all the breadwinner is amazing book i would read it again if i had the chance.
ReplyDeleteThe breadwinner is a really good book. I think that you would like it a lot. It talks about the culture in Afghanistan, but when the Taliban's come and take over rules had been made I think it is really sad how everything bad starts to happen. Later the Taliban's came and took this girls father her name is Parvana. She is very sad and her family members are too. So since women are not aloud to walk the streets alone, they dress her up as a boy. But later in the book her father comes back home and she is very happy to see him. In all of this I would rate this book a 8 out of 10. It was very sad I didn't even want to put the book down at all. However the title of this book kind of didn't make sence.
