Assignment #5 - Descriptive Writing

We have been working on descriptive writing all year.  This is your opportunity to show the class your descriptive writing abilities.  Write a paragraph describing (in your own words) an exciting event that occurred in your story.  Be sure to provide as many details as possible and provide support by using examples from the story.  Remember, make sure your writing is fluid by using proper transitions.

1.) Use as many good adjectives as possible to describe the nouns in your paragraph.
2.) Use as many good adverbs as possible to describe your verbs.
3.) Use as many vocabulary words that you have learned this year.

  1. An exciting event in The Breadwinner was when Parvana's father got swept away for having an education in teaching, and they threw him into the small, cold, pitch black prison sell, where her father was trapped there for six months. Another exciting event was when Parvana's father came back from the small prion cell, he was very, very ill and dehydrated and extremly hungry.

  2. An exciting event in The Bread Winner is when, Parvana digs up bones for her family in a grave yard and sells them to get money. So they have more money also they can afford more things now and they aren't starving anymore. In the book they seemed a little bit happier since their father was taken away by the solider's I am happy that they are moving on a little bit since than.

  3. An exiting event in the story is when Paravanna & her friend, had to boringly dig up old & dirty bones to provide an adundance of money compared to the usual amount that only buys a little. The to girls ( who both had the creative idea to dress up like boys) dug for money for very long hours from sun up to sun down then split the profit reasonably. The only problem has that Paravanna had come home late & her family has worried that the taliban had visously beat her & taken her in to custody. Seeing her mother in meloncholy made Paravanna break-down & confese her plans & was told to never do than again.
